namaste

wendell is my name, but I am essentially the same as you. I am of different form, but we are one. This is what I celebrate. this is a place of exploration to what I feel is my truth in any given moment. It is an expression of the glimpses in the moment that I experience as I try to bring them to life through my writing and capture them through photos. It is my practice, it is my laboratory, it is my playground

Fear in Change

do not be afraid now,
of the things that bother you -
for it has only been a change of color,
a change of texture, of form.
Do not be afraid of the night
hence, embrace it
for it is the same.
It is no different from the day,
or the blue dawn.
It is of the same song of presence.
Allow it to remind you of love
for the night is as beautiful as it is.
Do not be afraid,
for it has only been a change of form.

Worth

Could it be that answer that you have been waiting for,
all this time, in suspension?
Or perhaps the world?
the universe?

Could it be great control and power -
or even separation from a lost cause,
or from a sick society?
or from yourself?

Will a great encounter,
with a lover that you deserve -
be enough to make you happy?
will that be your end?

What is your worth in your eyes -
or in someone else's?
Which is more worthy?

How much does it take for you to become,
what you want to become -
and be able to tell yourself,
alas! I have found me.

What is your worth,
if there is even such a thing?

Quantum Reality

There are no chairs, nor tables
in the absence of an eye;
for we are countless possibilities,
no more than waves of uncertainties.
For things as they appear,
are just specks of what they truly are,
for as soon as you see them,
you have limited their infinite quality.
what is real then, and what is not?
In the presence of a conscious observer,
would you dare turn to look and see,
if to see is to limit such existence?

A New Shade of Gray

The sky has turned gray this morning,
and yet the trees remain ever so green -
the sound of the cars remain alive
and the birds still sing their songs of joy.
How can we be ever so proud of choice,
when everything around us are as they are?
We have put crowns in our heads heavily,
that we seldom see the beauty in the gray.
for today, the sky has turned dull, so to speak;
but I don't hear any complaints nor judgement;
from any of the those who are free -
they have always been there, singing
singing of the joys of life in your psalms -
The crown has served its purpose,
it is old, and it is tarnished.
Why am I still wearing it?

The Line between Joy and Attachment

The thing about getting more out of life sometimes is that we often cling to the things that we have or have earned in time. It is definitely beautiful to enjoy things, and be appreciative of the blessings as they come. But on the other hand, we also have to be aware at all times, so that the mind will not cling so much on these things. For they are not us, they are just things from which our ego has attached itself into. When our tendencies to attach to things rule our lives, we are creating a life that can lead to a place of disconnection and greater fear. We tend to lose that light that has lead us to this blessed and beautiful existence. We need to be fully open in enjoying the things that come, but at the same time, respect the fact that we also need to contract to be able to be introspective enough to see what is essential. In this way, we can see that these things are not us, but things that we enjoy. They will never be our source of joy, for we are joy. They can be triggers, but they cannot be our ultimate source of joy. It is ironic that at times when we feel that we have nothing, we actually ask for divine guidance and intervention, and this in itself is an indication of the desire to connect to something that is far greater than us. It is in emptying ourselves that we become selfless, for if we strip ourselves of what we think we are, we arrive to something that is truthful. "Blessed are the poor, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" - if we can understand this fully, we are able to see the doors to a heavenly existence.

Falling Leaves

This golden monsoon of the past,
where once were beautiful green gems
under the sun's morning light
are shed today with great surrender.
They gracefully make their exit,
with the help of the gentle breeze
in this one peaceful day.
They have become the wise -
for they have come to see
what is to be done -
They have to go for now,
to listen to the wind's call,
and make way for the spring's birth
of greener jewels abound;
And as they come to touch the earth -
death has become their only abode,
but it has never been their end;
it has never been.
For trust has become their friend.
They have come to see;
that life will come arising,
from this offering of life itself -
They have heard the wind's song,
of that eternal dance of the infinite.
Today, in this very moment -
they have become truly wise.

Mystery

it is all about effort
it is all about surrender
it is all about balance,
of vibration, and of the void.
It is not always about getting,
or going for what you want,
nor about losing everything,
it is about living your life -
It is a constant riddle,
a question partially answered,
but a door to yet another.
It is not always about you,
or me, or them -
It is all about this mystery,
and to walk with it
in every step of the way.
For what it is, is
a totality in its own accord,
and yet, a part of a greater
continuum, of silence
and of the void.
To know it, is to lose it,
to notice it, is to see it,
to be with it,
is to live in eternity.
